Dr. Chan has always had a deep interest in the medical field, driven by a passion for helping others and tackling multifaceted medical issues. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where she majored in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. While searching for the right medical specialty, Dr. Chan discovered podiatry—a field that resonated with her on both a professional and personal level. The hands-on nature of podiatric care, combined with the ability to connect with patients on a meaningful level, made it the perfect fit for her.
Dr. Chan went on to pursue her podiatric medical education at The Western University of Health and Sciences School of Podiatric Medicine. She quickly stood out for her leadership skills, becoming the student body president and concurrently exemplifying her academic skills by earning a spot on the prestigious Dean’s List. After medical school, she completed her residency training at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where she honed her skills in wound care and limb salvage. During this time, Dr. Chan worked closely with vascular surgeons, an experience that sparked a lasting interest in these specialized areas of care.
For nearly seven years, Dr. Chan has been a dedicated member of West Beverly Podiatry Group, where her compassionate approach and genuine care for her patients have earned her a loyal following. She is known for taking the time to understand each patient's unique needs and circumstances, crafting personalized treatment plans that go beyond the 'cookie-cutter' approach. Her commitment to staying on the cutting edge of medical advancements is reflected in her regular attendance at industry conferences and continued professional development.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, Dr. Chan also speaks conversational Burmese and is currently learning Spanish and Japanese. She loves practicing her Spanish with patients, who are often amused and appreciative of her efforts to connect with them in their own language.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Chan is a proud new mom, spending cherished time with her toddler son. She also has a love for exploring new foods, enjoying movies, and hiking. On her daily commute, you might catch her singing her heart out, as she enjoys unwinding with a little music, even on the busiest of days.
